Apple Cider Donuts – Easy Baked Fall Treat

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a donut pan.
  2. In a saucepan, bring the apple cider to a boil and reduce to a simmer until it’s reduced to 1/2 cup.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the sugars, egg, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
  5. Add the reduced apple cider to the wet ingredients and mix well.
  6. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  7. Fill the donut pan and bake for 10-12 minutes.
  8. Let cool before removing from the pan.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, consider adding a glaze made from powdered sugar and apple cider.
  • These donuts are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored for a couple of days.
