Cajun Chicken and Sausage Penne

A rich and flavorful Cajun Chicken and Sausage Penne that combines spicy sausage with tender chicken and creamy sauce for a perfect family meal.

  • 1 pound penne pasta
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 1 pound chicken breast, diced
  • 1 pound Italian sausage, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the penne pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and garlic and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add the chicken and sausage to the skillet. Sprinkle with Cajun seasoning and cook until browned.
  4. Stir in the diced tomatoes and heavy cream; bring to a simmer.
  5. Mix in the cooked penne pasta and Parmesan cheese. Stir until well combined, and heat through.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • This dish can be adjusted for spice level by adding more or less Cajun seasoning.
  • For a lighter version, substitute chicken sausage and half-and-half for heavy cream.
