  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup crab meat, lump or backfin
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or a blend)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the shrimp and season with Cajun seasoning; cook until shrimp are pink.
  3. Stir in the flour, and then gradually add the milk, whisking until smooth.
  4. Add the cheese and stir until melted and creamy, then fold in the crab meat and cooked macaroni.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake at 350°F for 20-25 minutes.

Notes

  • Add extra cheese on top for a cheesier flavor.
  • Adjust Cajun seasoning to your spice preference.
