4 large russet potatoes
1 cup heavy cream
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 garlic clove, minced
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Wash and thinly slice the potatoes.
In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it starts to simmer.
Add the minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to the cream.
In a baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes, then pour some cream mixture over each layer. Sprinkle with cheddar and Parmesan cheese.
Repeat layers until all potatoes and sauce are used.
Cover with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
Remove foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Notes
For added flavor, consider incorporating crispy bacon bits in between the layers.
Serve with a sprinkle of fresh parsley on top.
