  • 2 cups fresh raspberries
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3 tablespoons powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add the eggs, buttermilk, vegetable oil, and vanilla. Mix until combined.
  4. Gradually stir in the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
  5. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared pans and bake for 30-35 minutes.
  6. Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks.
  7. Whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form.
  8. Once the cakes are cool, layer them with whipped cream and fresh raspberries.
