  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Allow it to sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add flour, salt, garlic, oregano, basil, and Parmesan to the yeast mixture.
  3. Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  6. Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf. Place it in a greased loaf pan.
  7. Brush the top with olive oil and let it rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let the bread cool before slicing.

Notes

  • For a softer crust, you can cover the loaf with a kitchen towel while cooling.
  • Feel free to add herbs to suit your taste.
