Healthy Chicken Parmesan

Enjoy a healthier version of the classic chicken parmesan with juicy chicken, a light coating, and baked to perfection.

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup whole wheat breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Combine breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning in a bowl.
  3. Coat the chicken breasts in olive oil, then dip in the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Place the chicken on a baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes.
  5. Remove chicken from the oven and spread marinara sauce over each piece, then top with mozzarella cheese.
  6. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  7. Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
