Rigatoni arrabbiata

A delicious and easy-to-make rigatoni arrabbiata that packs a spicy punch for pasta lovers.

Ingredients

  • 300 grams rigatoni pasta
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 can (400 grams) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the rigatoni in a pot of salted boiling water according to package directions until al dente.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add the crushed tomatoes to the skillet and stir. Season with salt and black pepper. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Drain the rigatoni and add it to the skillet. Toss well to combine.
  5. Remove from heat and stir in fresh basil.
  6. Serve hot with grated Parmesan cheese on top.

Notes

  • Adjust the red pepper flakes to your spice preference.
  • For a creamier sauce, add a splash of heavy cream before serving.
