  • 28 ounces crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook the rigatoni pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add the minced garlic and sausage to the skillet, breaking up the sausage as it cooks until browned.
  4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Add the cooked rigatoni to the skillet and mix well to combine.
  6. Top the pasta with shredded mozzarella cheese and cover until the cheese melts.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with additional herbs if desired.
