  • 4 slices turkey bacon
  • 1 cup chicken ham, diced
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 6 cups chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon thyme
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the turkey bacon and cook until crispy, then remove and set aside.
  3. Add onions, carrots, celery, and garlic to the pot. Sauté until soft.
  4. Stir in the split peas, chicken broth, thyme, and pepper.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 1 hour.
  6. Add the cooked turkey bacon and chicken ham, simmer for an additional 15 minutes.
  7. Adjust seasoning with salt and serve hot.
